Acting Technique I and II is an ongoing class held four terms per year. In this class, you will learn powerful, doable exercises to free your imagination and emotions, and how to put your spontaneous life force into a play or script. Learn how to break down actions, make powerful choices, and use the technique to create security, liberate talent, and give complex, illuminating performances.

This class will be held in person for NYC-based students and virtually for remote students. Out-of-state and international applicants are welcome to apply.

THE MASTER CLASS ACTING TRAINING PROGRAM

Instructor: Thurman E. Scott, Artistic Director and Founder

All elements of the actors craft are taught in this course: Beginning and Advanced Technique, Scene Study, Script Analysis and Character Development. As Mr. Scott teaches each element of the actor’s craft, you will immediately put it into action and see the practical application of the concept at work. Students will develop the ultimate actor’s toolbox which can be used when developing a character for any play or film. This is a practical class that will yield extraordinary results and one that you can return to again and again to further deepen your craft.

The Master Class is held in four terms per year. After completing four terms in the program, you will perform one or more scenes or monologues directed by Thurman E. Scott, which will be presented in a showcase. In preparation for your showcase term, you will be given free rehearsal space over a period of two – three weeks.

CREATIVE EXPRESSION WORKSHOP TEN SESSION INTENSIVE

This intensive is a creative expression acting workshop designed for people from a wide range of backgrounds and professions. Students will learn techniques to reveal their creative potential and develop an expanded view of themselves and of all the people and things in their everyday life. Skills gained include leadership skills, enhanced communication, and public speaking skills.

You may be a business executive seeking new ideas to increase productivity. Or an educator trying to answer the challenging questions you confront each day by accessing your untapped intuitive, creative insights. Or a former actor, someone who once took classes but who hasn’t yet met a teacher with the understanding and commitment to see who you are and guide you toward the expression and fulfillment of your creative vision that is held deep in your heart.

When you are in touch with your creative, intuitive self, you are inspired to go beyond the accepted norm of your existence. By practicing the creative techniques you will learn in this class you will develop new insights and a focused intention to help you achieve the reality of your dream. You can’t just stay in one spot and ruminate about what it could be——you have to do something.
