I want to thank everyone for their guidance and support. The skills and abilities you helped me develop will empower me in pursuing my success. Success I am now more confident I can achieve. I came in shy and full of self doubt but I leave less shy and more confident. I appreciate you all greatly. Keep up the good work—the world needs you.
This was the first time for me to go to America. I met lovely and kind people at ATW. I think this program changed me. I’m more willing to help people. I have a more positive attitude. I hope I can be better and better in the future.
I remember the audience response to Khalik’s stellar presentation. I was so proud of him in that moment. And what a wonderful, rewarding experience for me to participate and witness the great work ATW is doing with these kids. This program is a terrific blending of all the personal attributes needed to succeed: imagination, creativity, discipline, communication, presentation, vocalization and more.
Dear Eileen, thank you for the wishes. The support from all over the world was such a precious help. That’s also an encouragement to support organizations that help raising and educating the kids to be more creative than destructive. That’s exactly what you do in ATW and I am proud I had a chance to be a part of it.
I am new to volunteering and working with ATW. I am having a blast. Everyone is so kind and helpful. The Builders of the New World (BNW) program is really inspiring. The work that Mr. Scott and the amazing staff do to make young homeless children feel a great sense of purpose by focusing on their imagination and creativity is unmatched. I am grateful to be a part of sparking these youths to realize that they can create a beautiful future by just using their minds. The Actor’s Theatre Workshop is a valuable organization and I’ve learned a great deal here.
My dearest people of the ATW! First of all, I would like to let you know that not a day goes by without me thinking about my time at ATW. I can without a doubt testify that the whole experience really was and is life changing. My parents have always taught me to try to be very respectful to everyone, and it was even more confirmed by the wonderful people I met at ATW.
ATW’s Builder’s of the New World program gave me the chance to break bread with children from homeless shelters and gave the children a safe space to practice expressing themselves without ridicule. It was great being a part of helping children gain confidence with speaking in front of an audience and sharing something they created.
After I came back home and started looking for a job, I realized how important it is to have good colleagues who respect and appreciate you. And I know those are very important values at ATW, respect and appreciation. I hope that one day I’ll find a job where work doesn’t really feel like work, just like at ATW.
At this internship they did not only look at your qualities, but also to your personality. There was a nice but still professional atmosphere. I want to thank all the senior staff members and Mr. Scott for believing in me and giving me opportunities that not everybody could get. This has been a great experience that I will never forget!
At ATW, I learned how to handle a crisis by taking action and going into a difficult situation rather than just contemplating what to do. I developed social-consciousness and leadership skills while I participated in the Builders of the New World program. Working with the dedicated mentors and children from various backgrounds was an inspiration for me. The staff at ATW helped me a lot to learn how to manage situations wisely. I am thankful because I felt that I was deeply trusted and supported at ATW.
