I know that for many, many years Thurman has worked hard to maintain the tradition of classic theatre and also to create new techniques to confront and reveal complex issues of today. His theatre’s strength lies not only in the training and ensemble performance of their adult company, but also in their tremendous emphasis placed on support of young people.
I am enormously grateful for the time I spent in Thurman E. Scott’s Master Class at the Actors Theatre Workshop. His teachings are powerful and extremely relevant to achieving fulfillment and success in any arena of life. He was a nurturing and inspiring guide on my journey toward personal and professional growth and development.
I am so happy and excited that you did not forget about me and I feel so honored to receive your message. I talk about Maestro Scott in all my seminars and workshops. It would be wonderful to meet you, Mr. Scott and your team, and your staff and students.

Mr. Scott has touched my life in a way that no other acting teacher has. You come out of his class emotionally and mentally stronger with a self assuredness and a sense of empowerment that may have been latent going in. I am extremely thankful to have had the opportunity to study with Mr. Scott.
I would be most grateful for the advice of someone with your experience. I began searching the internet for understanding of the difficulties of my training…I found the late Philip Seymour Hoffman and Tony Greco, and yourself.

I’ve trained as an actor in multiple notable institutions with highly accomplished teachers. And yet in my years of experience I’ve not had the pleasure of studying with someone who actually possessed true empathy. Thurman E. Scott is a bit of a shaman really. I felt like he was looking into my soul and it was simultaneously beautiful, intimate and safe.
Working with Thurman released me from an intense sense of internal battle and helped me feel in touch with my deepest creative forces.
I really enjoyed the session with Thurman Scott. He not only brings a unique approach to method acting, but also therapeutic focus on individuals to help them in their journeys beyond acting. He focus on social justice, introspection, and somatics in acting, is well aligned with CIIS values. My key takeaway was his teaching and embodiment of ‘less is more’. A rare and fascinating feat!
Thanks for organizing this, and looking forward to many more sessions like this!
